A Plane with 81 people on board, including Brazil Chapecoense football players team heading to Colombia for a regional tournament final, Crashed on its way to Medellin international airport.
One report said the Plane which had left from Bolivia, was short of fuel.
Medellin airport confirm that the aircraft which ,made a stop in bolivia, was transporting a club soccer team from southern barzil. The team was scheduled to play wednesday in the first of a two game copa sudamericana final against Atletico nacional of Medllin.
A another report posted on twitter, The jose maria cordova international airport said at least six survivors had been rescued at the site which could only be accessed by land due to harsh weather conditions.
The Chapecoense football team among 72 passenger and 9 crew on the board aircraft.
It was not clear what caused the crash of the aircraft, A british Aerospace 146 short hawl plane, but colombia had been hit by heavy rains and thunderstorm in recent hours.
The team from the small city of Chapeco, joined Brazil first division in 2014 for the first time since the 1970 and made it to the copa sudamericana final last week by defeating Argentina legendary San Lorenzo Squad.
